There are varieties of glass, it is not only decoration. With long duration it has many usages. Frosted glass can be as transparent as ordinary glass, but can block the image on the other side, effectively protecting the privacy of users. To understand the difference between frosted glass and sandblasted glass, and how to process clear glass into frosted glass, read this article and you will know.

Frosted and sandblasted glass surface is hazy treatment, so that light through the lampshade to form a more uniform scattering, normal users are difficult to distinguish the two processes. Here are the two processes and how to identify them.

1. SANDING PROCESS: Sanding is the process of immersing glass in acidic liquid (or smearing an acidic paste) , using strong acid to erode the surface of the glass, while hydrofluoric ammonia in the acid forms crystals on the surface of the glass. So a good frosted glass has a smooth surface and is obscured by scattering from crystallization. If the surface is rough, then it’s over acid erosion on glass. Or part of the crystal is still not well formed. This technology is difficult and glass quality is not easy to control.

2. SANDBLASTING. What is sandblasting? This process is very widely use, it is a high speed sand shot from a spray gun hit the glass surface, so that glass will form a fine bump surface, thus achieving the effect of scattering light. The surface of sandblasted glass is rough, because the glass surface is broken, it looks opaque.
